Although the political risk cast by the shadow of the Berlin
Wall has gone, the Central & Eastern European region is still
unique in a number of ways - and therefore offers a number of
opportunities:
- Unlike many emerging markets, a large proportion of the
population is well educated. There is no shortage of consumers and
employees willing to learn new skills.
- The region is represented by Russia in the key BRIC economies
and by neighbouring Turkey in the Goldman Sachs Next Eleven
fastest-growing economies. They are the only officially
recognised fast-growing economies in the whole of greater
Europe.
The region also boasts some of the highest global advertising
and marketing growth rates in the world.
- In most parts of Central & Eastern Europe, with the
exclusion of Turkey, the marketing communications industry was
formed in the early nineties. The industry has made huge strides
since and, despite many of the larger players being established in
some markets, there are great opportunities for niche players to
enter the region.
- Being a high growth but at the same time relatively untapped
marketplace, it presents an excellent opportunity to establish and
grow a marketing communications brand from scratch.

covers markets as diverse as Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Poland,
Hungary, Romania and the Czech Republic.
David Blois is Regional Director for the region and co-ordinates
a team of experienced associates across all of the major markets.
David, a former Commercial Director for Saatchi & Saatchi in
Central & Eastern Europe, established Results' presence here in
1997.
David has overseen a number of notable deals in the region,
including the acquisition of Medyaturk by Carat, which created one
of the leading media planning and buying agencies in
Turkey; the acquisition of Actis Digital in Moscow by
Wunderman (WPP), and the acquisition of RPM by IMSG, also in
Turkey. In addition, Results has performed a number of consultancy
assignments including commercial reviews and valuations on behalf
of buyers and sellers. We have also created several affiliate
relationships for agency groups and advised on MBOs.
